Set in a different Tokyo on a different world than ours, the story follows Tokunana, a unit of assembled misfits in the Metropolitan Police Department. Tokunana battles against "Nine" — an organization commiting crimes in their zealous worship of the dragons that once roamed the world.

NHK連続テレビ小説『虎に翼』。日本初の女性弁護士で後に裁判官を務めた女性をモデルに、「女性はこうあるべき」という当時の偏見や差別に「はて？」と声を上げ、立ち向かう主人公が視聴者の共感を呼んだ。 　　脚本を手掛けた吉田恵里香の仕事は幅広い。2022年のテレビドラマ『恋せぬふたり』では、恋愛感情も性的欲求も抱かない「アロマンティック・アセクシャル」の男女と周囲の人々との関わりを丁寧に描き、優れたテレビドラマの脚本家に贈られる向田邦子賞を当時最年少の34歳で受賞。今年のテレビアニメ『前橋ウィッチーズ』の構成・脚本では、魔女を目指すという女子高校生たちを主人公に、ルッキズムやヤングケアラーといった社会問題に切り込んだ。 　　吉田作品のそんな"主張"の強さは、時に物議を醸すこともある。だが本人は、「エンターテインメントだからといって、社会と繋がっていないという発想は違うと思う」。 　　取材を始めた去年9月、『虎に翼』の反響が続く中で次の仕事が走り出していた。同作のスピンオフ番組制作の現場では、登場人物の複雑な心情を紐解くのに監督と4時間あまりも議論を交わす。常に10本以上の企画を抱える傍ら、8年ぶりのオリジナル小説の執筆にも挑んでいる。テーマはここでも「生きづらさ」。思うように筆が進まず、「脚本とは使う脳みそが違って...」とこぼすことも。 　　今年から母校・日本大学で講師を務める。創作のノウハウを披露する一方、それ以上に熱がこもるのが、この時代に表現の仕事に就く覚悟について。「もっとオラついて、自信過剰な学生がいてもいい。今の社会、確かにそれだと生きづらい。でも、このままでいいのかなとは思ってしまう」。 　　5歳の息子の母として、仕事に育児に追われる。「吉田の書くものは気に食わない、だけど寄り添おうとした努力は認めてやる、と思ってもらえるレベルまで持っていきたい」と語る37歳はなぜ、世の中に問いかけを続けるのか。
